Food for facial Discoloration and Dark Spots

The following foods not only help brighten and even out facial complexion but also provide a therapeutic effect on the body’s internal blood and energy flow that will be reflected on the face.. Remember the external beauty is a mirror reflecting internal health. One must also keep in mind that that their beneficial effect is gradual, and, for best results, the food therapy must go hand in hand with herbs, acupressure/acupuncture and some  energy work such as qi gong/tai qi and yoga.

Winter melons are known as healing herbs. It benefits the heart, detoxifies the body, and beautifies the skin.

White turnip is sweet and cool in nature, entering the spleen and lung channels to detoxify the body. The best is to juice it in the morning and drink about a half a cup.

Persimmons are delicious fruit. They reduce dark spots on face and nourish the lungs and moisten the skin. They are rich in vitamin C and A, potassium, calcium and iron.

Chicken eggs have surprisingly beneficial effects. The whites clear the heat in the lungs and the yolks tonify the blood and rejuvenate the pale complexion. Eggs should be eaten once per day and can also be applied as a topical beauty product on the face.

Honey, Chinese yam, tomato, eggplant, black bean, peas, cucumber, Chinese cabbage and water chestnuts are also foods that are great for facial discoloration and dark spots. Till next time on herbal and food mask, I wish you all peace.

Sincerely,

Dr. Monica
